Did not see the fault before with the naked eye, and mine are pretty good for close work. Tweeter voice coils often show no visible damage, and I just looked at the original RP-103B diaphram I had with a big magnifying glass, and saw one coil had melted out and seperated. In Reply to: What exactly is the diaghram in a Jensen RP-103 horn tweeter? posted by acresm22 on Octoat 15:01:42: I admit to having very limited knowledge about the workings of speaker drivers, so bear with me on this. What exactly is the diaphram in the RP-103? Is it the thin, paperlike disc between the horn and the driver, or the quarter-inch thick round metal plate (with phase plug and lugs) that screws directly to the magnet and horn? I assume its the latter, but if so, how does the Clear Power diaghram attach to the existing magnet and horn? Weltersys said it was possible to substitute Clear Power fabric dome diaghrams available from Martin Sound in the RP-103s, but this has me confused. I posted earlier about some non-working Jensen RP-103 horn tweeters I have, and got helpful responses from weltersys and astrosonic. Posted by acresm22 ( A) on Octoat 15:01:42 ![]()
